Lazy day today; I did a whole lot of knitting while watching The City marathon. Personally, I prefer the aftershow to the actual show itself. I have a huge crush on Dan Levy (it's the glasses). I wish the show had more fashion and less "non-drama". I also shovelled the drive-way because it SNOWED again. I'm so over this snow business.

FINALLY some Gossip Girl! I had my dear friends Amy and Dhillon over for the event (as we do every week). Part of the reason I missed GG so much was because I missed seeing them on a regular basis. The episode was good, but it didn't meet my too high expectations. I didn't realize the preview I had seen was for the rest of the season, so I kept waiting for a Blair breakdown that didn't really happen. But she did impress me with her wardrobe (as always)... and of course I love anything that is theatre related.

Does anyone know where else this dress was worn? I've definately seen it somewhere else, but I can't place it. Was it in another episode of Gossip Girl, or somewhere on the red carpet? If you know, please fill me in. It's just one of those things, like a song you can't quite remember.

I had an excellent Saturday night. My friend Par is moving away, so we had a going away party down town.
What I wore: Shirt - Suzy Shier; Tank - Ricki's; Skirt - Smart Set; Tights - Le Chateau; Necklace and Earrings - Icing; Flower - Ardene's; Belt - came with jeans.
A few of us left the suburbs and headed down town a bit early so we could meet up with a friend of mine from Ontario. We went to Cafe Crepe for dinner. Down town is so different than it was a year ago. There used to be only one Cafe Crepe, but now there is one on every block.

Two minutes after getting into the bar, Steph already had two guys offer to buy her drinks. Because she is damn hot! I loved her outfit. So classy.
Chris was really disapointed when the string on his little green hat broke, but with a little nail power, I was able to fix it... twice.

Dhillon, wearing the shirt I picked out for him. It makes me smile a lot when people like the clothes I force them to wear. We had a mini argument over him trying on this shirt when we went shopping a few weeks ago. I demanded that he try it on, even though it wasn't his size. And then he loved it. And so did everyone last night. At one point, he thought I was telling people to compliment him.

I was very impressed by Chase's attire.

Ever wondered what happens at the 25 Cent Peep Show? Well, first of all, let me tell you, 25 cents it is not! Minimum purchase $5.35. False advertising? Um, yes. Very upsetting. Jen left the club because she was curious as to what was behind the black curtain and decided to cave in and cough up the $5.35. She was given several "25 Cent" tokens. The peep show was actually a video of 80s porn. Sexy. She used a few tokens and then went back to the club to see if anyone else wanted to see a show. Steph and I decided to join her behind the curtain, but before we were able to see anything, the grumpy clerk informed us that we would have to pay again. He said that the sign clearly says "No Re-entry"; there was no such sign. We were very disheartened by the whole experience.

Despite not being able to view the Peep show, it was a very enjoyable evening.

One of my best friends is coming into town tonight, and we are going to paint the town red eating Yam fries and playing Scrabble. Yeah, we're hard core. H-core. Check out my Ashley O inspired bow. It was a lot easier to do than I thought. Hopefully it will hold up.

Currently Wearing: Shirt - Joe; Skirt - Suzy Shier; Leggings - Sirens; Belt - Mother's Closet; Earrings - Value Village
I think these would be my favourite leggings. I love the stars, and the vibrant blue.

Hair Bows

I know they are kind of tacky, but I can't get enough of hair bows. And nobody does them better than Miss Gaga.

I have a really cute hair bow that I used to love to wear. Now that I've dyed my hair, it doesn't match anymore. I'm going to have to master using my actual hair to create them from now on.
I like they way Ashley's hair is in the picture below. Although I would probably do something a lot smaller.

My friend Vanessa just bought and an amazing Sequin jumpsuit and a Sequin Butterfly shirt at her local thrift store for 50 cents each!!! I am in shock. Apparantly everything in the store is just 50 cents because they have way too much stuff. Fingers crossed that the sale will still be going on when I come to visit her next week.

This is why my wallet is perfect for me:

Time for some Canada Love. I went to see "One Week" tonight, and it was really good. I got very excited about all of the neat images of Canada. It's about time we have a movie that shows how awesome we are. There are very few things out there that are strictly Canadian. Tim Hortons and The Bay aren't even Canadian companies anymore. We have a lot of film productions shooting up here, but rarely does Canada get to be Canada when it's on screen. I really enjoyed getting to see lots of familiar places that weren't disguised as somewhere else.

I just wanted to do a shout out to my favourite surf shop. It was featured in the movie, and of course, this thrilled me. I have so many good memories of this place. The guy who used to own it was a lovable nut job who would entertain us with stories of horse tranquilizer pills and acid flashbacks. I was disapointed the last time I went back to find that it's under new management now. Although, it's probably for the best.

Don't Laugh. This is my wallet. And I LOVE it. It's one of my favourite things. I got if for Christmas from my mother. I don't know how she found it, but it is absolutely perfect. The dogs in the photo look identical to my dogs. They are even gender appropriate. AND, they are wearing bows!

Movie night tonight. This is what I wore/am wearing...

According to my friend, Amy, I left this necklace at a party she threw a few years ago. About 8 months after the party, she finally returned it and was so pleased with herself for finally remembering to give it to me. The only problem was it's definately not my necklace and I don't even think I was at the party where it was lost. I tried to give it back to her, but she refused to take it since now she had absolutely no idea who it belongs to. So, I guess it belongs to me now... unless it's yours, and then you can have it back. I don't wear it very often, but I like the kitchy vibe.

It's pretty much a lace pom pom (or as Tina would say, a doily), but that's what makes it great.

I bought this belt at a really cute vintage store in Kelowna. I really liked the entire selection in the store and everything was a pretty good price. Usually when I went there, everything was fine and the sales ladies were all really nice. But one day (Actually it was St. Patrick's Day, almost 2 years ago), I went in with a few friends from out of town. There was a new sales girl working and she kept following us around the store, keeping a watchful eye on us. At one point, she came over to me, grabbed MY jacket from out of my hands and proceeded to put it on a hanger and went to put it on the rack. I have no idea what would posess her to do something like that. Obviously, she thought it was store merchandise, but even if it was, if someone is carrying an item around the store, that generally means they are interested in purchasing it. I haven't been back there since, which is a shame, since I quite liked that store.

My beloved Bow Bag. I really can't get enough bows in my life.

I don't know how I feel about me hair. I think it turned out how I imagined it. But, was I really going for Boring? At least I don't have to worry about colouring it again. Although, it definately needs some dimension.

I wore one of my favourite dresses today. It's so comfortable and whenever I wear it, I always get compliments from random strangers.

Dress: Smart Set
Tights: Ardene's ($2!!)
Bow: Ardene's

To Belt or not to Belt...

I'll admit it. I love celebrity gossip, so I am an avid reader of Perez Hilton. Yesterday he posted a picture of Victoria Beckham in a cute little black outfit. Immediately my eyes zoomed in on the belt over the sweater. Personally, I am a fan of the look. At first, I thought Perez was too, but after re-reading the article, I realized he was talking about a completely different outfit. The phrase used to describe this look was "Fashion Disaster". Really?!?!? Okay, I get that a belt over the sweater isn't for everyone, but Disaster? What do you think?

The belt over the sweater look is something I've been wanting to try for a long time. I have a really cute vintage leapord cardigan that has been loved to death so it's started to lose it's shape and doesn't hang as nicely as it used to. I'm thinking the belt over the cardigan would help solve the problem since I'm just not ready to give it up yet.
